ubuntu 10.04
Canonical has announced the availability of the first Ubuntu 10.04 beta release. The first beta version of a new style using the theme 'Light', with plugins that offer music online from Canonical and a kernel that has been optimized for the recently released Ubuntu 10.04, one day after the official schedule. The new version of Ubuntu is scheduled to arrive in April, codenamed Lucid Lynx and will be a long-term support (LTS) release, which means that updates will be available for three years on the desktop and five years on servers. ‘Lucid Lynx’ has appeared with a new style and bring some improvement.

Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL)' has been removed from Lucid Lynx, and the booting process is rather fast. Using the features 'Open Source Driver Nouveau' for a graphics card NVidia proprietary driver so installation can be installed simultaneously, and at the same time boost the speed of booting.

Among the included features include: Kernel 2.6.32, glibc 2:11, X. Org 7.5 with X-Server 1.7, Beta 2:30 GNOME, KDE 4.4 (Kubuntu version), Firefox 3.6, OpenOffice 3.2. GIMP application which this time is no longer included in the initial medium was replaced with a simpler application F-Spot. Overall, the collection is almost identical to those applications bundled with Ubuntu version 9.10.

Users will be aware that during the development cycle, window button in the left and the Maximize, Minimize; Close reservations. It's not a bug.

We now feature built-in integration with Twitter, identi.ca, Facebook, and other social networks with the MeMenu in the panel, which is built upon the Gwibber project, which has a completely new, more reliable backend built on top of desktopcouch. Gwibber now also supports a multi-column view for monitoring multiple feeds simultaneously. http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/lucid/beta1
