LINUX DISTRO


LINUX distro is created with a specific program package based on sources are available and packaged in such a way as to have a better view or different features in accordance with the wishes of the distro maker. There are distros that focus on distribution means that the server is more optimized to the server system so that the bundled software or programs that are specific to the server just examples for this distro include: Trustix Secure Linux, Server Turbo Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Server, Server Optimize Linux (SoL ), Mandrake Security and many other examples.

When the new Linux users acquainted with Linux, they usually hit on the problem of distribution that will be used / selected. Debian / GNU Linux
Debian GNU / Linux is a non-commercial distributions produced by volunteers from around the world working together via the Internet. Ubuntu’s name derives from the name of a concept of ideology in South Africa. “Ubuntu” comes from the ancient language of Africa, which means “a sense of humanity towards fellow human beings.“

Red Hat Linux
Red Hat is a fairly popular distro among Linux developers and companies. Support-technical support, training, certification, application development, and the merging of the kernel hackers and free-software such as Alan Cox, Michael Johnson, Stephen Tweedie makes Red Hat to expand rapidly and are used in the company. The biggest point of this distro is Red Hat Package Manager (RPM). RPM is a software to manage packages on our Linux systems and is considered the de-facto standard in packaging the distros and their derivatives which is widely supported distro.

Fedora
Fedora (previously called Fedora Core, sometimes also called Fedora Linux) is a Linux distribution based on RPM and yum, developed by the Fedora Project which is supported by a community of programmers and sponsored by Red Hat.
The name comes from a character Fedora fedora used in Red Hat logo.

Knoppix
Knoppix is a Linux live-cd distro that can be run through a CD-ROM without installing them on your hard-disk. Application is complete and suitable for a demo or to learn Linux for those who do not already have on your hard-disk space, can also rescue CD. The downside of knoppix is necessary to use a huge memory of 96 MB of graphics mode though it can also run on 64 MB memory with a swap on the hard-disk as the author’s experience but you need a little patience. Commercial Linux

1. Lycoris
